Job description:
The Institute of Molecular Regenerative Medicine of the Spinal Cord Injury and Tissue Regeneration Center Salzburg (SCI-TReCS) at the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in cooperation with QPS Austria GmbH in Grambach, Styria, is offering a fully 3 year FFG-funded PhD position in neurode- and regeneration research. The specific research topic is within the field of alpha-synucleopathies (Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease) and involves molecular, cellular, and in vivo experimentation. All in vivo experimentation will be performed at QPS, molecular, cellular and histological analyses will be done at the PMU.

The Institute of Molecular Regenerative Medicine is part of the Spinal Cord Injury and Tissue Regeneration Center Salzburg, where our focus is on basic and translational research in brain regeneration and rejuvenation.
The cooperating partner QPS Austria is a contract research organization in the field of neurodegenerative and rare diseases as well as mental disorders. The company is located just outside of Graz.

Demands & Tasks:
You are a MSc or MD (physician scientist) with a strong interest in neuroscience and with experience in one or more of the following areas:
RNA/Protein analyses, immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, experience with pre-clinical models, and are motivated to perform highly competitive mechanistic research / in vivo models in the field of neurode- and regeneration as part of a growing team of excellent researchers.

PhD topic:
“Validation of in vivo models of Lewy Body Dementias and Parkinson’s Disease in the frame of a drug development program”

Remuneration:
The gross annual remuneration is based on the actual FWF recommendations for a PhD position and is listed with: EUR 29.573,60 per year.
