JSW Life Sciences GmbH with “New cell cultures as an alternative to animal experiments in drug discovery and development”
The company is principally involved in drug development for treatment of Alzheimer and Parkinson disease. Before a new drug is tested in humans, it´s effects have to be proven in animal tests or cell cultures, although tests with living animals become less because of moral and monetary reasons.
The new developed cell culture model shows significant comparability with existing conditions of an Alzheimer or Parkinson effected human brain and therefore differs from other models. With this new model the probability of selecting the right substances for the ongoing drug development rises, by the chance of reducing the developing period. The model is soon to be published.
